CASUAL THINGS TO DO WITH STUDENTS OUTSIDE PROGRAMS
- Game Round Robin—play a short game and enjoy munchies at each small group members’ house
- Go to a Movie on Tues. night at the Valley Value –cost: $3.75 (as of 6/17/10). Discuss the movie afterward at a coffee shop-go to www.christianitytoday.com or www.pluggedin.com for discussion questions on most movies
- Go On A Photo Scavenger Hunt— www.egadideas.com for lots of ideas
- After a snow storm-have a shoveling party: walk around a neighborhood and offer to shovel for people who haven’t yet cleared their sidewalks. Meet afterward for hot chocolate & popcorn
- Go To Tundra Lodge’s water park on a cold winter day (day passes sold)
- Go Bowling
- Participate in “Snow” sports after a snow storm...Tubing At Calumet County Park is great fun and inexpensive-phone: 439-1008
- Get together to brainstorm a service project your group could do over Christmas break or spring break
- Call Q-90 and ask them about volunteering for one of their special events
- Call Life! Promotions and ask how you could help them
- Have a Pizza Making Party-be creative with the ingredients! Invite younger siblings to help out
- Take a trip down “Memory Lane” - get together and share funny photos from your past-you could share testimonies too!
- Invent a new board gave and then play it
- Conduct a “random acts of kindness crusade” - Jump in a van and search the city for kind things to offer to do for people spontaneously (Ex. Wash car windows at a gas station, return shopping carts for shoppers at Wal-Mart, stop by one of your group members homes and do a long dreaded chore for the family, etc.)
- Take your group’s siblings to a fun place like TDS, Air it Up, a movie, Soccer Heaven, etc. and give the parents some free time together!
