Coach Position Description

 

The primary responsibility is to provide care, support, and build relationships with their small group facilitator.  This is accomplished by working alongside of your Community Elder to build a common sense of vision for community and a commitment to the well being of each small group facilitator.  A coach gets to know each small group facilitator personally and models faithfulness and loving, living and reaching excellence in ministry

 

Desire: Helping people mature and realize their potential as followers of Christ.  Caring for the small group facilitator, enabling them to care for their small group and facilitate growth in their relationship with God.

 

Experience: Has small group experience.

 

Spiritual Gifts: Shepherding, leadership, encouragement, discernment.

 

Individual Style: Enjoys spending time with people, good listener, easy to approach, warm, yet strong enough to confront in love, vulnerable.

 

Growth (pre requests):           

·         Member of Christ the Rock Community Church,

·         Should have the character of deacon or deaconess,

·         Successfully completed Character Development,

·         Sign F1 confidentiality Agreement,

·         Filled out leadership Questionnaire,

·         Complete Small Groups Coach Training,

·         Trained in Small Group Finder – Manager

·         Consent to a Criminal Background check.

 

                                    

                                    Availabilities: (# of hours is dependent on the number of

                                    people you are supporting and the maturity of each group)

                                    You may spend 1 to 3 hours per week per group. It is

                                    suggested that you visit each one of your small groups on

                                    a regular basis.

 

Natural Abilities: Demonstrate nurturing skills and ability to help people become all that God wants them to be.  Easily develops relationship with others.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Pray for the small group facilitators.

·         Lead by modeling Christ, being involved enough to sincerely

      affirm the small group facilitator and knowing them enough

      to care and provide encouragement. Help them to develop

      in Christ both personally and in their ministry.

·         Provide opportunity to resource, motivate and encourage and

      provide huddle opportunities with your facilitators.

·         Attend Leadership Quest and leadership training opportunities.

·         Communicate with your Community Elders on a regular basis.

·         Support the Small Group facilitators and members in

      multiplying or transitioning of their group.

·         Encourages the use of the Community Purpose Statement.

·         Encourage and supports Christ the Rock’s Vision , Purpose,

      Core Values and Faith Statement

·         Continue your personal growth in Christ
