Double Portion Soup Kitchen

Mission: To feed those who are hungry, physically and spiritually, and to maintain the dignity of everyone who comes to Double Portion.

Location: in St. Thomas Church at 226 Washington Street, Menasha, WI. Serving dates and times: Double Portion serves a free meal every Monday, Wednesday (except the third Wednesday of the month), and Thursday from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. and holidays that fall on a serving day.

 

Volunteer Opportunities: set up, prep, serve, or help clean up from meals, visit with guests and help share the love of Jesus to them

Emergency Shelter of the Fox Valley

Mission:  Emergency Shelter of the Fox Valley, Inc., provides temporary shelter to homeless individuals and families in a safe environment, while providing guidance to those both homeless and at-risk that promotes independence.

Fair Market Thrift Store

Mission:  To raise funds for Christian education by selling tax-deductible donations received from generous people throughout the community. Through our work at the Fair Market Thrift Store, we seek to make a positive difference in the lives of children through Christian education.

Mission: To offer HELP and HOPE to a hurting generation. Christ-centered and Life-affirming, Mother & Unborn Baby Care is devoted to helping mothers and babies in need through material assistance, education and emotional support.

Housing Partnership of the Fox Cities

Mission: To be the low cost provider of quality affordable housing to low income families living in the Fox Cities. To provide families, adults and children, the opportunity to realize their potential and make a lasting contribution to society through effective transitional housing and supportive services.

Mission: To work through volunteers to assist people in crisis who have basic needs that cannot be met elsewhere. LEAVEN provided emergency financial assistance for housing, utilities, transportation and other basic human needs to over 6,000 households in 2007.

Reclamation Resource Center - member of Exodus International.

Mission: To extend God's love and grace by proclaiming to all who will listen that freedom from same-sex-attractions and other forms of relational brokenness is available through a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Services Provided: Support Seminars, Materials, Group Meetings, Help for Families, Speaking Engagements     

Goals:

  • To help and encourage men and women struggling to find freedom from same-sex-attractions and other expressions of relational brokenness by befriending them and pointing the way to change.
  • To motivate and train the body of Christ to meet the needs of those making such a life altering decision.
  • To motivate and train the body of Christ to extend God’s love and grace without compromising God’s standards to those who have not made such a decision.
  • To provide a safe place for parents and loved ones to come and share their pain, confusion, and grief coming from the issue of homosexuality.

Volunteer Opportunities:  We are always looking for facilitators/co-leaders for our Renewed Hope drop-in group.  You don't need experience with same-sex attraction, but need to be able minister to parents of Prodigals and unfaithful spouses.

Mission: To provide spiritual care to residents in Nursing Homes, Community Based Residential Communities, and Assisted Living Care Communities throughout the Fox Valley Area.

St. Joseph's Food Program

Mission:  The St. Joseph Food Program is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-sectarian organization that has operated since 1982. Weekly we distribute 30 tons of fresh food and non-perishable items to hundreds of men, women and children - the elderly, working poor and temporarily unemployed.
