ENCOURAGING STUDENTS
The world is a rough place for this generation. At this age students have a lot of people telling them what to do or what they’re doing wrong. We want our ministry to be an oasis of encouragement for students.
Here are a few things you can look for to encourage them with:
- Sense of Humor
- Determination
- Willingness to take a God-sized risk
- Choice of Friends
- Faithfulness
- Enthusiasm
- Loud voice/quiet voice
- Trusting God
- Working hard
- Ability to laugh at themselves
- Self control
- Manners
- Willingness to clean up after an event
- Smile
- Ability to forgive others
- Positive attitude, happy heart
- Flexibility
- Helping without being asked
- Honesty
- Ability to…(edit a video, be friendly to new students, etc.)
- Heart for prayer, missions, etc.
- Passion about something
- Love and loyalty for their friends
- Signs of spiritual & emotional maturing
- Support/respect of their parents
- Being able to say “I’m sorry”
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to listen
- Asking questions
- Making good decisions
- Pursuit of God
- Ability to make others feel comfortable
- Being reliable/trustworthy
...but mostly-that they are loved not because of what they do...but because of Who’s they are...God’s creation!
