Giving is an important part of our relationship with God. He gave first and He gave the best, now He gives us the challenge to respond to His generosity.
Whether it is dedicating your child to God, a baptism, marriage or funeral, we want to be there for you and help make your next life event both God-honoring and memorable for you and those close to you.
Baptism is a symbol and a statement. After you have accepted Christ as your Savior, baptism is a way to publicly identify with His death, burial and resurrection. It communicates that you are not ashamed of Him or His Gospel and that you are making a commitment to live for Him. Baptism doesn’t make you a believer but it is an outward sign of what has already happened in your heart.
What About Children?
At CTR, children may be baptized when they are old enough to believe and understand the true meaning of baptism. We leave it to the parent's discretion as to when they believe the time is right for their child, or until the child chooses to be baptized.
We believe that children are received by God. We do not believe that baptism takes away original sin, nor does it grant salvation.
For information on infants, please see the Child Dedication Ceremony below.
For more information on Baptism contact the Church Office.
Child dedication at Christ The Rock is a joyful recognition that every child is a gift from God. Parents have a responsibility to develop that gift – to mold and shape, to shepherd and nurture this precious life. Dedication is an opportunity for you to publicly commit yourselves before God, family and friends to raising your child in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
What is "Dedication"?
Child Dedication is a time for you to publicly declare your commitment to raise your child to know and love Jesus. It's also a time to welcome grandparents, friends and other relatives who are crucial in supporting you in your journey.
Child dedication is not the same as infant baptism. We believe that baptism is a public declaration of an individual’s decision to follow Christ. Since infants are not capable of making that decision, we reserve baptism for a time when an individual is old enough to understand the decision to accept Christ as Savior.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does Christ The Rock believe about baptism and dedication?
We believe that baptism is a public declaration of an individual’s decision to follow Christ. Since infants are not capable of making that decision, we reserve baptism for a time when an individual is old enough to understand their decision to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior. Faith is not passed on to a child through dedicating a child; parents are making a commitment to raise their child in the training and instruction of the Lord with the desire that one day their child will receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and choose to be baptized.
What is required prior to dedicating a child?
Parents must be ready to publicly make the required Parent’s Commitment and attend an orientation that usually occurs the evening prior to the dedication. Child dedications do not require membership at Christ The Rock.
When do child dedications occur at Christ The Rock?
Child dedications are part of Christ The Rock weekend services at various times of the year.
How do parents sign up?

Healthy marriages don't just happen. If you're engaged or considering marriage, our premarital class and mentoring process will help prepare you for a healthy marriage that lasts. Learn from trained mentor couples who know the joys and challenges of marriage and how to work through conflict and differences before they become big issues.
Prior to the first class, each couple will complete an online Prepare Assessment based on a set of 5 inventories that highlight potential relationship issues. We recommend that couples take the premarital class before engagement and at least nine months before their wedding date. Successful completion of the premarital class and mentoring are required before a Christ The Rock pastor can perform a marriage ceremony.
We share in your happiness as you start to plan your wedding and begin the beautiful adventure of marriage. Our pastors will work with you to plan a ceremony that honors God and matches your dreams for your special day.
The first step to being married by a CTR pastor is completion of our premarital class and mentoring (6-9 months before the wedding). After you register for the class, we will pencil in your wedding date on the church calendar to reserve the building. Your date will be confirmed after successful completion of the premarital class and mentoring, approval from your wedding pastor, and payment of the wedding rental fee. (No fees are collected by CTR for offsite weddings, but the other requirements apply.)

I was thrilled the other day when my Community Shepherd, Michelle, took the time to give me a call. It was truly unexpected.
Do you know how you feel when you don't really want to burden somebody? Even though Michelle would tell me she was there for me, I didn't really want to call her or burden her with what may be going on in my life.
