These guidelines will help your small group become a place of genuine care and spiritual nourishment:
Devote Time To Prayer
Ask students to pray about specific issues, ask: “Who are you praying for? Write prayers about students’ walks with God and show the prayers to the student you wrote about.
Encourage Authentic Horizontal & Vertical Relationships
Share each others struggles, call them on your off-week to let them share with you one-on-one. Ask them “How’s your walk with God going?
Encourage Truth Seeking
Provide them with resources on topics they seem curious about.
Encourage Servant-hood, Family, Church, Community, the World
Connect them with the Ministry Purpose team to take a spiritual gift assessment & for serving opportunities. Brainstorm service project ideas as a group. Working together builds community and is fun!
Facilitate Magnification
Get’ em thinking of creative ways to worship. Go to Cup o’ Joy together. Celebrate “living the life”
Point Them Towards a Passion
Many new “ministries” at CTR start with a passion. Tell them what you “see” in them. Help them learn how God designed them to serve. The Ministry team has tools that can help you in this area.
Model Christ-likeness
Include students in your everyday life! Have a “take a kid along” policy in your life!
Move Towards Defining their Own Faith
Faith isn’t something they can inherit. Compliment their leaps of faith!
Encourage Being Baptized
Encourage Sharing their Faith
Help them write their own testimony.
