Small Group Facilitator Position Description

 

The primary responsibility of a Small Group Facilitator is to equip themselves and their members by loving God (worship and prayer), loving each other (fellowship), learning to apply the scriptures to everyday life (Bible study) and reaching others for Christ (outreach opportunities).  

 

Desire: Helping people mature and realize their potential as followers of Christ.  Caring for people and encouraging them to grow in Christ.

 

Experience: Demonstrates nurturing skills and desires to see people grow.

 

Spiritual Gifts: Shepherding, Leadership, Encouragement, Hospitality, Mercy.

 

Individual Style: Prefers interaction with people and is empathetic, merciful, flexible, a good listener, warm, easy to approach.

 

 

Growth (pre requisites):         

·         Member of Christ The Rock Community Church

·         Should have the character of deacon or deaconess

·         Signed F1 Confidentiality Agreement

·         Completed Leadership Questionnaire

·         Complete Small Groups Facilitator Training

·         Trained in Small Group Finder – Manager

·         Consent to a Criminal Background check

 

Availabilities: Small Groups will meet for approximately 1–2 hours each week. Preparation for the weekly meeting takes 1-3 hours each week.

 

Natural Abilities: Demonstrates nurturing skills and a desire to see people as God sees them.

Responsibilities:

    §  Prays for those who attend their group.

    §  Provides an inviting and safe environment for the group

                   to meet in.  Facilitates worship, prayer and discussion.

    §  Promotes regular attendance at group meetings.

    §  Fosters a confidential environment where members

                   feel safe.

    §  Conducts the small group in a way that facilitates self-                   disclosure, understanding the application of the Word, 

                   and mutual care and support of group members.

    §  Helps group members to celebrate their growth.

    §  Will welcome coaching visits periodically.

    §  Communicates vital information about Christ The Rock 

                   with group members.

    §  Attends Leadership Quest, Huddles, and leadership         

                   training opportunities that are offered.

    §  Encourage the group to reach out together by doing     

                   community outreach projects.

    §  Facilitates those in the group to grow healthy

                   spiritual lives by building their relationship with

                   God and others.

    §  Communicate with your community elders

                   and coaches on a regular basis.

    §  Encourages the use of the Community Purpose Statement.

    §  Encourage and supports Christ The Rock’s Vision,
