WHAT STUDENTS NEED FROM CARING ADULTS
Will you let God use you to reach our young people?
Impacting youth happens one student at a time. We believe that solid student ministry is built on relationships between leaders and students. Relationships are key to students feeling loved and understanding God’s love in practice ways. This is when real spiritual growth takes place in a student’s life! Students do not connect to the programs; they connect to people.
The most effective way to influence students is through significant relationships with key people in their lives. Whether you choose to serve in outreach ministry or as a small group mentor or in a support role serving student ministries, your interactions with the students will impact eternity. Our goal is to develop volunteers who love students and desire to see them grow in maturity in Christ.
Below is a list of values we desire for our volunteers:
Students need adults who will:
· Love God and live for Him
· Be interested in their lives
· Take initiative to spend time with them
· Pray for them
· Be real
· Say encouraging words
· Go to “their world”
· Remember their names and what’s going on in their lives
· Share God’s love through personal experience and transparency
· Be consistent in attendance to programs
· Be patient
· Love them where they are “at” keeping an eye on eternity
· Believe in them…seeing them “through the eyes of Jesus”
· Laugh
· Enjoy life
God has a wonderful plan for every student in our ministry. It’s a good plan, and one that he’s certainly capable of accomplishing all on his own, but he chooses not to...he’ll use you!
