The Power of Repentance

Repentance, sin and confession are not popular words these days, even in the church. But we cannot truly understand the power of the Gospel without understanding these crucial words. As we continue our Empty and Filled series, we will look at how a lifestyle of repentance, supported by the practice of reflection, can help us get the most out of Lent—and out of life.

From Series: "Empty & Filled"

Our next series will look at the symbol and practices of the season of Lent. Lent is a fixed amount of time set aside to focus on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. It's an invitation to interrupt our daily rhythms to symbolically follow Jesus into the wilderness. Lent is a call to fasting and self-denial, though not for the sake of denial itself. It is a period to empty ourselves of lesser things so that we might be filled with the greater things of the gospel.
