This week, we look at the new command Jesus gave His disciples to love one another. But we will look at the context of when Jesus said this, and who He said it to. We will see how differently some of the men who heard this statement thought about political issues, and how Jesus expected them to behave as His disciples despite those differences. We will see how it relates to us today. How do we deal with the tension of unity? How do we handle political differences with people who say that they love Jesus too? How can we do this in a way that honors what Jesus asks us to do as His disciples? Don’t miss this final message of our Politics of Jesus series.
Looking at the example Jesus gave us, we will study how we can navigate both relationships and the political landscape with humility and hope, while loving others well and remaining true to our faith in Jesus Christ. Key principles taught by Jesus can equip us to better listen and engage with both our relationships, and in the political life of our community and nation.
