Is it wrong to be rich? Short answer: No, but It’s complicated. The Bible doesn’t say having an abundance of money is evil. But it does say, “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.” (1 Timothy 6:10a). In the passage from James this week, he warns the rich about the hazards of wealth and in a way that invites us to consider if we are the ones in danger.
James gives followers of Christ clear, practical and straightforward wisdom on what it means to live out our faith. He shows us that the Christian life is actually possible- that ours is a faith that works.
