Day of Atonement

What do goats and temples have to do with atonement? How did animal sacrifice in the Old Testament foreshadow the death of Jesus? Why does God require blood for sin to be forgiven? The answers to these questions are necessary to understand why Good Friday is so good and Easter is such an amazing celebration. This message will explain why Jesus had to die of the cross for the forgiveness of sin.

From Series: "Empty & Filled"

Our next series will look at the symbol and practices of the season of Lent. Lent is a fixed amount of time set aside to focus on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. It's an invitation to interrupt our daily rhythms to symbolically follow Jesus into the wilderness. Lent is a call to fasting and self-denial, though not for the sake of denial itself. It is a period to empty ourselves of lesser things so that we might be filled with the greater things of the gospel.
