Time To Party

This last message in the series [A]part of HIStory is called Time To Party. We look at how this unusual and amazing story told in the book of Esther ends. It ends with a huge celebration. In fact, the celebration is so significant that it became one of the feasts of Israel celebrated yearly. For the last 2,400 years, the Jewish people have been celebrating the Feast of Purim. We find out what this feast is and why it is an occasion for such feasting to this day.

The book of Esther recounts the story of the Jewish people near the end of their exile, while facing the threat of extermination. Esther is the Persian name for the Jewish woman Hadassah. Esther is one of only two books in the Bible where the Name of God is not mentioned, yet God’s sovereignty and providence are incredibly woven through it.
