Hope for the Lonely

In our third week of our series A Weary World Rejoices, we will look at two characters in the Bible who understood the meaning of God’s presence: David and Anna. A Thousand years before Jesus was born, David understood that God is with us. Anna, after waiting her whole life to see her hopes fulfilled, met God in the flesh when Jesus was brought to the temple. Both stories show us what it means for Jesus to be Immanuel, God With Us. If you or someone you know is struggling with loneliness this Advent season, allow these stories to bring hope to you as we see how good the promise of of God’s presence truly is.

From Series: "A Weary World Rejoices"

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Or is it? Though we often enter the Christmas season with high hopes, we are quickly buried with things like busyness, stress, strife and loneliness. It can become a time of feeling the trouble in our hearts, and our hope for something better flickers out. But what if we invited God right into that place? And what if the Christmas season was actually about that exact struggle? What if Jesus came to meet us in the weariness of our soul, and bring us a new hope? In this series, that is exactly what we will explore together.
