Help Welcome Our Alaska Missionaries Home
Be part of an online “shower” to welcome home Willie and Haley Nichols, who have served on the mission field for 6 years with our Alaska mission partner, Tanalian Bible Camp! We’ve put together on online gift registry — they will need everything, from silverware to towels, as they return to the lower USA during a time of national crisis. If you’d like to help them put together their home, click here for the gift registry.
2020 Short-Term Trips – Some will be rescheduled.
ALASKA: June 13-22, 2020 | This trip will be rescheduled to avoid passing a new virus to indigenous people. We partner with Tanalian Bible Camp in Port Alsworth, Alaska. Alaska has some of the nation’s highest rates of suicide and alcoholism, and Tanalian works with local churches to bring the hope of the Gospel to children in a camp setting. The focus of this trip is assisting with summer camp for 7th and 8th graders, with CTR team members serving in a variety of roles.
PERU: June 18-29, 2020 | This trip will be rescheduled to avoid passing a new virus to indigenous people. Team members on this trip will assist with in-service teacher training, work with kids in homework clubs, perform brief dramas with gospel messaging, and prepare arts and crafts activities for students. The team is also looking for Spanish speakers to be translators for the trip.
GEORGIA (USA): Oct. 16 – 19, 2020 | Clarkston, Georgia has become a destination for international refugees. 40 different nationalities speaking 60 languages are located in the town’s 1.4 square miles. During this trip CTR team members will share the Gospel, assist the community in service projects and fellowship with new believers in newly-planned house churches.
HAITI: December 2020 | We partner with a church in Hinche that operates two schools and cares for children orphaned in the 2010 earthquake. CTR has helped in past years with sustainable clean water projects for the church, schools, orphanage, and city, and has written grants to provide medical equipment for the hospital in Hinche. The purpose of this trip is to run a Leadership Conference to help teach the nationals basic leadership principles to aid in the future work of Haiti Christian Ministries.
HAITI MEDICAL TRIP: May | This trip will be rescheduled to avoid passing a new virus to vulnerable populations. A team of medical professionals will provide support for the hospital in Hinche.
