Forgive Us Our Debts

As we continue our study of the Lord’s Prayer, we get to what might be the most difficult part of the whole prayer: forgiveness. Of course, most of us don’t mind praying for our own forgiveness of sins. But as C.S. Lewis said “Everyone says forgiveness is a lovely idea, until they have something to forgive.” It is much harder to forgive others. But in this week’s message of our Teach Us to Pray series, we will see how this part of the prayer can unlock something in our lives, free us from a heart filled with bitterness, and transform our lives. If you are ready to see greater levels of freedom in your life, than come learn from Jesus on this difficult but crucial part of the prayer He teaches us.

From Series: "Teach Us to Pray"

Do you struggle with knowing how to pray, or wonder if God really hears your prayers? Many of us long to have a deeper prayer life -- and draw closer to God -- but we aren't sure how to grow in this spiritual discipline. The disciples asked Jesus directly, “Lord, teach us to pray." Jesus taught them a simple, powerful way to talk with God – we know it as the Lord’s Prayer. Most of us know that prayer by heart, but like the disciples, we often have misconceptions and fears about prayer. In the midst of our questions, God invites us to bring everything to him in prayer. God wants to be in a deep, close relationship with you, grow you as a disciple, and empower you to make disciples. The same is true for Christ The Rock as a community of believers -- and if we are really going to make that happen, we need to be a church that prioritizes prayer. We can’t do it in our own strength.
