But this “consolation” we receive now by virtue of choosing to serve a worldly master prevents us from receiving the real treasure—eternal life in heaven with Jesus—when we live apart and follow Jesus. Following Jesus looks like modeling His embrace of a simple life and obeying His calls for generosity.
