We are so thankful for our CTR Alaska team, who just returned from helping disciple elementary students at Tanalian Bible Camp! The kids experienced large group Bible teachings and worship, time with their CTR leaders to talk and ask questions about God and their Bible lessons, and lots of outdoor fun in beautiful Port Alsworth, Alaska.
Tanalian Bible Camp traces its roots back to 1963, when families from across Southwest Alaska began meeting to encourage each other and worship God. This gathering grew into the Tanalian Bible Camp we are blessed with today, which serves 400 youth each year between the ages of 9 and 19. Tanalian Bible Camp also offers the Tanalian Leadership Center to post-high school Alaskan Natives, continuing to foster spiritual and vocational support. It’s such a gift for our team to be able to support this caring and faithful organization.
Christ The Rock has been working with Tanalian Bible Camp for nearly a decade. We care deeply about this partnership because many of the kids at Tanalian don’t have a church in their home village. Our mission is to create disciples, which can happen in our community or almost three thousand miles away in Port Alsworth! We will always faithfully go where God calls us.
We are grateful to the staff at Tanalian, and to this year’s team, who used their own vacation time to serve in Jesus’ name. Thank you Mike, Cathy, Scott, Dan, Jana, Troy, Grace, and Faith, for your dedication to passing the faith on to the next generation — and we thank everyone at CTR for generously supporting this trip!
