In this week’s message, entitled The History of Hate, we will look at 2 primary characters. Haman, who hated Mordecai, wanted to not only kill him but all the Jews. We will discover that there was history to the hatred of Haman towards the Jews, as there is history with our experiences of hatred or dislike of certain others. We will also look at Mordecai, who was so different than Haman. Mordecai was merciful and kind. He was faithful to God and in his quest to pursue Gods purposes. But where did his kindness and "goodness" come from? We will end the message by partaking of communion together and praising Jesus.

The book of Esther recounts the story of the Jewish people near the end of their exile, while facing the threat of extermination. Esther is the Persian name for the Jewish woman Hadassah. Esther is one of only two books in the Bible where the Name of God is not mentioned, yet God’s sovereignty and providence are incredibly woven through it.
