As we have been in our series The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, we have seen many moments where somehow deals with the consequences of their own ugly decisions. But what do we do when we experience ugliness in our story because of what someone else does to us? How do we respond when the ugliness of other people’s harm is forced upon us? This week, we dive into the story of Joseph, the last major character in the book of Genesis. We will see how despite his ugly circumstances, Joseph learned that how he responded is what makes all the difference in his life, and in the life of an entire nation.
You might assume that God only works through cleaned-up people who have it all together. But God chose to work through the good, bad and ugly of this messy, broken family to bring forward His plan of delivering a Savior for His people and the entire world.
